FR 2900 respondents that offer foreign-currency deposits at U.S. offices file it one week each quarter, the week beginning the third Tuesday of March, June, September and December (quarterly_reporting_week). Each day reads the same positions the FR 2900 averages, the latest closed-date sync on or before the day, so a weekend or holiday carries the previous close, and the foreign-currency deposit lines that sync translated at that day's approved closing rate: the daily valuation method, at the bank's consistent series of rate quotations. A demand deposit class is item 1 (MDRM 2340) and every other transaction or savings class item 2 (other liquid deposits, MB60); cash items in process of collection (0020) are zero because the core takes no foreign-currency items, and a foreign-currency time deposit line is refused (409) because item 4 (2697) needs each deposit's balance against $100,000.
